The secret ingredient of baking is always love. That’s why Tom Junod rightly said, “you don’t have to love cooking to cook but you have to do more than love baking to bake. You have to bake out of love.” Its an amazing art between time, temperature and ingredients. So we always have stories when we bake.
When you cook, you don’t need to measure every ingredient, you can add some of them as per your taste. In cooking if you make any mistake, you may find a way to fix it. In baking, without a measurement scale you cannot more even a single step. And if its your bad luck and you make a mistake in baking, most of the cases you have to do all over again to get the perfect result. So baking is time consuming endeavour. You have to wait hours after hours, sometimes days after days to get the final dough ready to bake. And in between the story grows.
There are hundreds of varieties of dough in baking and the process of making these doughs are different in different parts of the world. For example, to make a puff dough, you need to fold a dough for 5 times and that creates 432 layers. And you need to wait 4 hours to 24 hours in between each fold. So practically you may need to wait for a full week to get a puff dough ready for a perfect puff pastry. So story grows within.
Baking takes time. It requires patience and cool brain. Every piece of baked food is the end result of endless perfect steps. If you make mistake at one step you may have to start from step 1 again. So without having the love story attached with baking it is difficult to continue this journey. So love is the most important ingredient for baking.
It’s a story of love. It’s a story of being perfect. It’s a story of waiting for hours after hours. It’s a story of patience and passion. And finally, the story of the artwork and design for presentation. This brand is a story teller of the baking, by the bakers and for the bakery.
Every bakery on this planet do baking but their stories are uniquely different. We are going to focus on the stories behind the curtain. Story of growers, farmers, suppliers, bakers to customers, all of them. All of them are very important components of a bakery, together a brand grows and the journey of a food completes.
Mission: By using 100% pure ingredients in a healthy and creative manner we have a mission to spread ‘Sugar Crush’, a home bakery brand, to all the homes of the community that gradually introduces authentic bakery products and contributes to develop a healthy community.
Vision: Using local ingredients to produce international standard bakery products that becomes the daily food of the community to get a sustainable healthy and joyful life.
Product Statement: When most of the local bakery brands are using imported ingredients mostly, at Sugar Crush we are trying to use fresh local ingredients as much as possible. The mission is not easy, but we have already stepped in and researching to find a sustainable path. We are trying our best to use local flour, butter, icing sugar, spices and grains. But for some chocolates, whipped cream, jells, emulsions, sprinkles and most of the tools and equipment we are 100% dependant on importers. Nothing changes over night; we will continue our fight to develop healthy local bakery food with international standard and authenticity.
Service Statement: There are several limitations starting from existing delivery system to on growing expectations of our customers we are trying our best to enhance our services as much as possible.
Now we are receiving orders round the week but delivering only 3 days a week: Friday & Saturday and Tuesday. We do not have any outlets anywhere in the country till now, its 100% home-delivery inside Dhaka. There are only few products like breads and cookies than can be delivered outside Dhaka upon specific customer request.
